Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions outline the services offered by Jaffna Airways Limited and define the responsibilities of Jaffna Airways Limited, the licensed airlines, and transport providers we act as agents for. By making a booking through Jaffna Airways Limited, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
1. General Information
Jaffna Airways Limited acts solely as a flight booking service agent for licensed domestic airlines operating within Sri Lanka and as a booking intermediary for road transport (van hire) services.
All flight services offered through Jaffna Airways Limited operate strictly as domestic air services within Sri Lanka, under a valid Domestic Airline Operator Licence issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL).
Jaffna Airways Limited does not own, operate, or control any aircraft or road vehicles. All flight and road transport operations are carried out entirely by their respective licensed service providers.
2. Our Responsibilities
- Providing accurate flight schedules, fares, and van hire information.
- Assisting passengers with booking, payment processing, and confirmation.
- Facilitating communication between passengers and service providers.
- Ensuring bookings are made only through licensed and reputable operators.
3. Airline Responsibilities
All flight operations are carried out exclusively by David Peiris Aviation (Pvt) Ltd, a licensed domestic airline operator in Sri Lanka.
- Passenger air transport and flight operations
- Aircraft safety, airworthiness, and crew operations
- Baggage and cargo handling
- On-board and ground safety
- Flight delays, cancellations, and schedule changes
- Compliance with aviation, health, and security regulations
4. Road Transport Responsibilities
All road transport services, including van hire, are operated by independent, licensed van operators.
- Passenger and goods transportation
- Vehicle condition, maintenance, and insurance
- Driver licensing and conduct
- Road safety and compliance
Jaffna Airways Limited acts only as a booking intermediary and is not liable for incidents, delays, or losses during road transport.
5. Flight Routes
- Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB / Katunayake) – Palali Airport, Jaffna (JAF)
- Ratmalana Airport, Colombo – Palali Airport, Jaffna (JAF)
6. Fees and Fares
- Domestic aircraft with limited seating capacity are used.
- Each seat is charged per passenger, adult or child.
- Fares apply to short-distance domestic travel only.
- All payments must be made in full at the time of booking.
7. Refund and Changes Policy
Flight Ticket – Cancellations
- Katunayake → Jaffna: LKR 20,000 administration and booking fee
- Ratmalana ↔ Jaffna: LKR 8,000 deduction
Flight Ticket – Changes
- Katunayake → Jaffna: LKR 10,000 per ticket
- Ratmalana ↔ Jaffna: LKR 3,500 per ticket
Van Hire
- Cancellations: LKR 3,700 administration and booking fee
- Changes: LKR 2,000 per booking
All requests must be submitted in writing prior to departure. Refunds are typically processed within 7–14 working days.
8. Baggage Allowance (Air Travel)
Baggage allowances are subject to the selected flight package. Passengers must refer to the applicable baggage policy. Overweight items are subject to additional charges of Rs. 4,000 per kg.
9. Road Transport Luggage Policy
- Luggage limits are set by the van operator.
- Overloading and hazardous items are prohibited.
- Passengers must comply with safety requirements.
For Next Day Delivery – Main Luggage Service, customers must confirm luggage condition before loading. Jaffna Airways Limited is not responsible for internal damage discovered after loading.
10. Tourism and Additional Services
Tourism services including tour packages, guides, helicopter tours, and small aircraft sightseeing are operated by Gemray Explore Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, which bears full responsibility for those services.
11. Liability Disclaimer
- No liability for delays, cancellations, or schedule changes.
- No liability for loss, damage, or injury during travel.
- Jaffna Airways Limited acts strictly as an intermediary.
- Passengers must comply with airport and government regulations.

12. Changes and Updates
Jaffna Airways Limited reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
